The Opportunity

The Talent Acquisitions Specialist is responsible for full life-cycle recruiting: sourcing, screening and recommending placement of staff by using creative sourcing methods (internal and external), scheduling interviews, creating offer letters, completing all new hire tasks, as well as onboarding and new hire orientation.  The ideal candidate will have experience in high-volume, non-exempt/hourly specialty trade recruitment (HVAC Service Technicians, Plumbers, Electricians, Etc.)

 

Responsibilities

  • Implement recruiting best practices
  • Source candidates to meet job description profile and/or building a diverse talent pool for current and future requirements through phone interviews, face-to-face interviews, and assessments.
  • Conduct interview process requirements with hiring manager and team to set expectations for recruitment process
  • Use traditional and non-traditional resources to identify and attract quality candidates such as social media recruitment, career fairs, military and/or niche organizations, community network events, etc.
  • Provide on-time and consistent follow-up with candidates and hiring managers to provide information on the interview process status
  • Use competency-based interviewing to identify top talent and recommend to hiring managers
  • Effectively communicate position opportunity to candidates, including core values and work culture
  • Manage internal recruitment process, verify that all job openings are posted internally and externally, including screening of internal applications, coordination of interview with hiring manager, transfer process, transfer offer letter, etc.
  • Draft offer letters and maintain offer letter templates
  • Assist in college recruiting process and relationships with Universities including: career fair registration, job postings, coordinating company representation and materials, managing candidate communication and follow-up interviews, etc.
  • Ensure fair and consistent administration of all human resources policies and practices in South Texas
  • Support the new hire and onboarding process including coordination of required documents and paperwork, coordination with IT and shared services, day one orientation and new hire announcements
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a firm’s HR Recruiting practice (vertical) is preferred
  • 3+ years of full cycle recruitment experience
  • Specialty trade recruitment preferred (HVAC Service Technicians, Electricians, Plumbers, Etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience conducting competency/behavioral based interviews.
  • 3+ years of Applicant Tracking System experience, iCIMS is preferred
  • 3+ years of HRIS experience, ExponentHR is preferred
  • Able to conduct and document screening process including resume pre-screening, telephone interview and short listing, design questions and scripts for screening process
  • Knowledge of employment regulations with the DOL, EEOC and other legal requirements
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence and persuade across all levels of the organization, exercising a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, poise, tact and diplomacy to accomplish objectives
  • Ability to handle confidential matters
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe.

*This is a hybrid position (3 days in our Doral office, 2 days work from home)

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.

 

Environmental Requirements

Will be required to work in an office environment and possibly, occasionally in the field.

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
